Que tal, mis amigos?
Today I am rocking a classic Simon-on-the-Mississippi look! That's right, red shorts and a black shirt. Sorry man - I stole it. But I figure that since we're in different countries it shouldn't be a problem. I also find myself wishing I had my Sperry's with me ...
Also, man - check out this Levi's store! Maybe you and Amber could come down on a business trip to check out the Antigua branch!
Before I came to Guatemala, everyone kept telling me, "eat lots of fruit!" And they were right, the fruit is particularly good here - except the fresas (strawberries), which have been kind of tough. The reason I bring this up is that my host family was distraught to learn that I don't like mangoes. So was my teacher. I'm beginning to think that I may be the only person in the world who doesn't like mangoes! I've inserted a nifty little poll below so you can let me know if the proverbial cheese stands alone!
Do you like mangoes?
In other news ... I've made a Swiss friend! His name is Sondre, but I think I'm going to call him Sondre the Swiss Army Knife. He has all kinds of hidden talents - he's a social worker, he plays blues guitar, piano, soccer, speaks English, and does who knows what else! That's why he's the swiss army knife - just when you think he can't have anymore functions, you discover another one! I told him this is his new nickname, but he's not on-board ... yet!
The Swiss Army Knife has made it his goal to get me to enjoy soccer. I explained to him that I have no time for a game that can end zero to zero. But he was relentless, so we're going to watch some kind of championship game between Barcelona and Real Madrid later this month.
Bo! This picture is for you! I'm sure you knew this was coming though, right? Say hi to Melanie and Frizz for me!
I think the poll ruined your background photo.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you should see if Sondre can clip your toenails.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you left the sperrys.
ReplyDeleteLevis is so ubiquitous, Amber was saying last night how it seems like almost everyone is from a different country.
Antigua looks like a top producer so I'll see if she can get us out there, or at the very least she should send a probe to check it out(ie. this guy).
I'd like to remind you that you had three mango martinis at Jen's birthday party last year, and seemed pretty happy about them at the time.
ReplyDeleteIn hindsight, you might have just been going for the glowsticks.
I'm shocked to see that majority of people who responded to the poll dislike mangoes! Yay! Haha!
ReplyDeleteWell...the majority of those people voting are family and well...what can you say about family :-)? They might be trying to fool you into thinking that most don't like mangos, when in reality most actually do.
ReplyDeleteyou forgot your title! your helper tom
